CHARACTER
Name: Ravi Chakrabarti
True Name: Ravi
Canon: iZombie (S5E5: "Death Moves Pretty Fast")
Age: Nebulous. Let's say 37.
History: Unfortunately the wiki is shit, so there'll be small doses of headcanon in here to round things out.

Ravi grew up in London with both parents and no siblings, and it's strongly suggested he grew up both moderately well-off and well-loved by his parents. It can be presumed he studied while still in England, earning an undergraduate in biology and a masters in virology, in order to work for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in America. While it's not known how long he was there for, it was long enough that when he was fired for "over his obsession with prevention of a biological weapons attack and the prediction of a zombie outbreak", he became infamous for it.

There's no indication given of the time frame between working for the CDC and King's County Medical Examiner's office, but he's already chief medical examiner there by the time the plot begins, and in the pilot he learns that his assistant Olivia Moore is a zombie, and he spends the entire rest of the series working on making a cure for her. While there's a few potential cures with disastrous side effects and a lot of dead (and undead) lab rats, eventually Ravi does manage to make a vaccine, which he uses on himself, and a very limited number of fully functional cures with no ongoing drawbacks, which get stolen by local brain dealer and infamous serial killer Blaine DeBeers.

While he and Liv do their best to keep her zombie secret on the down-low, they're not the only zombies in Seattle, and eventually it becomes known that zombies are real and a massive threat, and Seattle is put into quarantine with walls built around the entire city. During this period, Liv begins helping to traffic people in and out of the city's lockdown, and smuggles in a teen girl with Freylich's syndrome, which makes her immune to the zombie virus, who donates her brain to science when she dies, and Ravi is able to discover that her brain is a straight-up cure. Unfortunately, his contact in the CDC discovers this independently, and though he manages to talk her out of publishing this, word still gets out anyway and makes national news.

Powers/Abilities: While otherwise a baseline unremarkable human nerd and doctorated forensic scientist, for a few days every month Ravi turns into a fucking zombie, with powers as follows:

- Altered biology. Zombies are identical to humans, except capable of surviving and healing from massive amounts of damage; zombies don't appear to leave lasting scars from this healing, and anything that doesn't destroy the head can be regenerated from. Their heart rate is 10BPM, and they don't bleed from wounds of any kind, though blood can still be drawn. They also have no sense of taste whatsoever, and thus all zombies tend to put massive amounts of hot sauce on their foods to be able to taste anything.
- Infectious. This iteration of zombie disease is incredibly virulent, and it's been proven that even condoms are ineffective barriers due to the miniscule size of the virus, which is present in all bodily fluids and primarily spread via scratches and bites, which Ravi is capable of spreading during this state (and will cause other characters to become standard zombies, unlike him).
- Gotta eat brains. While Ravi can survive without them due to his semi-cured status, he still actively craves brains while on his zombie period. It takes weeks, possibly months for zombies to degrade enough to turn into stereotypical Night of the Living Dead zombies; this is technically impossible for Ravi due to the extended time period.
- Psychic Visions. When a zombie consumes straight brains, they take on the personality and skills of the person being consumed, and can often be triggered into having random memories from the victim; this looks like the zombie suddenly stopping for a brief period of time as the memory is relived (partially or in full, first-person, with all emotions attached to it).
- Full-On Zombie Mode. Left 4 Dead style zombie mode. The zombie's eyes turn dark red and maroon, their skin turns bluish-purple and veins become prominent and dark, and the zombie becomes uncontrollably aggressive and violent, with massively increased strength and no apparent sense of pain. This is caused by extreme emotions, trauma or pain, fatal wounds (that aren't headshots), or intense frustration, and while it can be talked down from, doing so when it was caused by pain is notably difficult. At this point in canon Ravi has never gone full-on zombie mode.

On the regular human side, Ravi is a fully qualified medical examiner. He has a high degree of competence in pathology, virology, chemistry, biology, the spread and prevention of disease, and zombies. He's also just a big ol' nerd.

Inventory: A clean labcoat, some spare latex gloves, assorted pens and his own mobile phone (sans charger).

Job History:
- Center for Disease Control and Prevention: unknown period of time, presumably <4 years.
- King County Medical Examiner's Office: Current and ongoing. Has at some point worked his way up from intern to medical examiner.

Suppressions:
- Fear of going full-on zombie mode and killing someone
- Generally infecting people with zombie-itis.
- Killing people
- Active harm through his own medical negligence
- That his work on the zombie cure will get people killed
- Any sort of general harm to his friends
- Guns
- Lowkey general anxiety

Greatest Fear: That he won't be able to cure the zombie virus plaguing New Seattle, for any number of reasons (including lack of supplies to make a mass cure, that the hate groups out to kill zombies will get him in the crossfire, that New Seattle will get bombed first) and all of his friends will die because of it.

Greatest Desire: To create a cheap, mass-replicable and effective zombie cure.

Greatest Regret: That the reveal of his research - that minors with Freylich syndrome are immune to zombie-itis and a perfect cure - has made national news, and put hundreds of otherwise safe kids at risk of being kidnapped and murdered.
